About Aptly

Aptly is the enterprise platform for delegation of authority (DoA) and signatory management. We help large organizations replace spreadsheets and manual processes with a centralized, auditable, AI-enhanced authority management system. Beyond our software platform, we provide professional services to help clients design, implement, and optimize their delegation of authority frameworks, because the technology is only as good as the governance practices it enables.

About the Role

We are building out Aptly's Professional Services practice, and we are looking for a Senior Governance Consultant to be a founding member of this team. In this role, you will work directly with enterprise clients, often at the C-suite and VP level, to assess their current authority management practices, design improved DoA frameworks, and guide implementation of those frameworks within Aptly's platform.

This role is equal parts strategic advisory and hands-on enablement. You will help clients answer fundamental governance questions: Who should be able to approve what? At what thresholds? Across which entities and jurisdictions? How should authority cascade during absences or reorganizations? And you will translate those answers into configured, operational reality within our platform.

If you have spent your career in management consulting, internal audit, compliance, or enterprise risk management and you are looking for a role where your governance expertise drives tangible product outcomes, this is it.

What You Will Do

  • Lead client engagements to assess current delegation of authority practices, identify gaps and risks, and develop improved DoA frameworks tailored to each organization's structure, regulatory environment, and risk appetite
  • Facilitate discovery workshops with senior stakeholders (CFOs, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officers, Internal Audit Directors) to document authority requirements, approval thresholds, and escalation protocols
  • Design authority matrices, signatory management structures, and policy documentation that codify client governance requirements
  • Guide clients through the configuration and deployment of their DoA frameworks within Aptly's platform, working closely with our Implementation team
  • Develop reusable frameworks, templates, and methodologies that scale Aptly's services practice, including industry-specific DoA blueprints for financial services, energy, government contracting, and other high-complexity verticals
  • Provide ongoing advisory support to clients on governance optimization, regulatory changes, and best practices for authority management
  • Contribute to Aptly's thought leadership by authoring content on delegation of authority best practices, regulatory trends, and governance transformation
  • Inform product development by channeling client feedback, common pain points, and feature requests to the product team

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in management consulting, internal audit, enterprise risk management, corporate governance, or compliance, with meaningful exposure to delegation of authority, internal controls, or organizational design
  • Direct experience working with large or complex organizations on governance frameworks, SOX compliance, internal control design, or authority structure optimization
  • Deep understanding of how authority management intersects with regulatory requirements across frameworks like SOX (Sections 302/404), the UK Corporate Governance Code, MiFID II, GDPR, and FAR
  • Exceptional client-facing and facilitation skills with comfort leading workshops with C-suite executives and translating abstract governance requirements into structured, actionable frameworks
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to take a complex, multi-entity organizational structure and produce a clear authority matrix
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms in the GRC, ERP, or compliance space is a strong plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for client engagements
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CPA, CIA, CISA, or similar professional certification strongly preferred

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with equity participation and performance bonuses
  • The opportunity to build a professional services practice from the ground up at a fast-growing enterprise SaaS company
  • Direct access to Aptly's leadership team and product roadmap
  • Flexible remote work environment
  • Budget for professional development, certifications, and industry conferences
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k)
